Southern Caribbean Cruise

Among the newest pages on our website is one on Southern Caribbean cruises. Find out which cruise lines offer these cruises, the available home ports for Southern Caribbean cruises and some of the possible ports of call.

Learn more about Southern Caribbean Cruises. You may just decide to book one yourself - Click here.

By the way, my family and some other relatives and friends will be sailing on a "Southern" Caribbean cruise from San Juan on July 12, 2015. You may plan to join to us.

Read about it on our Annual Group Cruise page.

Cruise Industry News

Here are two of several things happening in the cruise industry:

1. Carnival Corporation to Open New Port October 2015
Carnival Corporation will open a new Caribbean port of call this October. The port is named Amber Cove and is located on the north coast of the Dominican Republic.

For those Caribbean cruise lovers always looking for something new, Amber Cove is it.

The first cruise ship to visit the new port will be Carnival Victory on October 6th. Other cruise lines in the Carnival Corporation family (Princess Cruises, Holland America Cruises, etc.) will most likely share this port.

2. Dr. Seuss Heads to Sea

Do you remember "Cat In a Hat" or "Green Eggs and Ham"? These are very popular Dr. Seuss books.

If you have young children, you will be happy to know that Dr. Seuss is now at sea.

Carnival Cruise Line has rolled out elements of the famous writer and his collection on limited ships, with plans to add this "new thing" to all ships.

Expect to meet famous characters such as The Cat In a Hat, Thing 1 and Thing 2, and Sam I Am. Plan to join the parade with these fun characters and even to enjoy breakfast with green eggs and ham (Cover charge of $5/person for this breakfast treat).

Check with your Travel Profession for additional information. FYI - Carnival Freedom, which now sails out of Galveston, Texas, even has a Dr. Seuss Bookville.

Your children (and you) will love this!

Plan A Group Cruise

A group cruise is generally comprised of at least 8 cabins (number varies by cruise lines), each with 2 or more passengers.

Group cruise ideas: graduation celebration, retirement celebration, family reunions, employee appreciation, club or organization fundraiser, girlfriends' getaway, couples' retreat, church outing, wedding, etc.

Reasons for planning a group cruise:

1. Cruising with a group is much more fun than cruising alone. I have done both and really prefer sailing with a group. Furthermore, there are perks to be had when cruising as a group.

Plan your group cruise today. Learn more about group cruises here.

Cruise Saving Tip

Here is something everyone loves - learning how to save a buck or two on their cruise ship vacation.

Tip: Bring Your Own Water Onboard Ship

Some people drink no other water but that from a bottle. If that is you, you can save money onboard ship by bringing your own bottled water.

Buying bottled water onboard ship will quickly add up to a pretty penny. The good news is that some cruise lines allow you to bring certain items like water onto their ships.

Find out from your Travel Professional if your ship does. Bring your own water and save some money.

Happy saving!
