Exciting Independence of the Seas Cruise

I recently completed a 5-night Western Caribbean cruise aboard Royal Caribbean's Independence of the Seas. It was a wonderful cruise, which sailed from Ft. Lauderdale to Labadee, Haiti and Falmouth, Jamaica.

I added a page to my site, highlighting some aspects of the cruise.

You can learn more about my exciting Independence of the Seas cruise vacation by clicking here.

Cruise Industry News

Here are three of several things happening in the cruise industry:

1. Carnival's Newest Ship Features Dr. Seuss

Carnival Cruise Line's most recent ship, Carnival Vista, is barely wet, but the next ship is on its way.

Debuting in 2018, Carnival Horizon will join the fleet of the world's biggest and most popular cruise line and she will feature Dr. Seuss.

Taking advantage of its partnership with Dr. Seuss, Carnival will add "Dr. Seuss Waterworks" on the Horizon.

There will slides and other props fashioned after Dr. Seuss' famous characters. This promises to be great fun for your children and children of all ages.

2. MSC Cruises Going Big In North America

MSC Cruises currently has one ship - MSC Divina - sailing the Caribbean from the United States (Miami, Florida). That will soon change.

By the end of 2017, there will be two ships sailing from the United States. That will be quickly followed by a third ship by 2019.

If you enjoy all things Italian, you will love a MSC cruise vacation.

The cruise line does a wonderful job of offering you an Italian flavor, as you sail the Caribbean Sea.

3. Norwegian Cruise Line Adds Lifeguards Onboard

Norwegian Cruise Line becomes the most recent cruise line to add lifeguards on its ships (some for now), following Royal Caribbean International and Disney Cruise Line.

Norwegian's rollout of this service, to provide added protection for your children, will begin on its four (4) biggest ships (Norwegian Breakaway, Norwegian Epic, Norwegian Escape and Norwegian Getaway) this summer and then fleet-wide by 2018.

Plan A Group Cruise

A group cruise is generally comprised of at least 8 cabins (number varies by cruise lines), each with 2 or more passengers.

Group Cruise Ideas: graduation celebration, retirement celebration, family reunions, employee appreciation, club or organization fundraiser, girlfriends' getaway, couples' retreat, church outing, wedding, etc.

Reasons for Planning a Group Cruise:

Cruising with a group is much more fun than cruising alone. I have done both and really prefer sailing with a group. Furthermore, there are perks to be had when cruising as a group.

Plan your group cruise today. Learn more about group cruises here.

Cruise Saving Tip

Here is something everyone loves - learning how to save a buck or two on their cruise ship vacation.

Tip: Drive To Your Cruise Port

Most residents of the United States live near the coast and this is a big plus for those of you desiring to cruise.

Top cruise lines, especially Carnival Cruise Line and Royal Caribbean International, have strategically positioned their ships at ports from one end of the United States to the other (New York to California).

Consequently, it is easy for many families to drive to a ship for their cruise vacation.

This works very well for families who would otherwise have to buy three, four, or five airline tickets to get to a cruise port.

Think of all the savings for bigger families.

Consider driving to your next cruise port and save big. The road is a part of the adventure.

Happy saving!
