Christian Comedy Gospel Music Cruise

I am thrilled to announce that Carnival Cruise Line has given me the green light to host an annual Christian comedy and gospel music cruise event.

I have set up a webpage to share the details of my plans for this exciting venture, which I hope to launch in 2017.

I encourage you to read more about this Christian comedy and gospel music cruise by clicking here.

Cruise Industry News

Here are two of several things happening in the cruise industry:

1. Carnival's Fathom Heads To Cuba

By now, you are aware of the hype surrounding the opening of Cuba to more American visitors and general travel.

Carnival Cruise Lines is the first among the top Caribbean cruise lines to win approval to send cruise ships to Cuba.

Carnival recently launched a new brand called Fathom, which embodies a spirit of helping others - a mission cruise thrust.

Fathom will bring people looking to participate in community development projects in Cuba to the island.

This new Carnival brand will also take mission-minded guests to get involved in community development projects in the Dominican Republic.

Cruises to Cuba will begin this spring. If you are interested, get with your Travel Professional.

2. Royal Caribbean Increases Its Gratuity Rates

No one likes to pay more, but now we will.

For cruise sailings beginning on and after May 1, 2016, the new suggested gratuity rate on Royal Caribbean cruises goes to $13.50 per-person per-day. Guests in suites are asked to pay $16.50 per-person per-day.

Royal Caribbean now joins Norwegian Cruise Line with the highest suggested gratuity rates in the Caribbean.

By the way, the gratuity rate is suggested. You may adjust it up or down at the end of your cruise.

Note: Always consider paying some gratuity to help those crew members who work so hard to ensure that you have a fabulous family vacation.

Plan A Group Cruise

A group cruise is generally comprised of at least 8 cabins (number varies by cruise lines), each with 2 or more passengers.

Group Cruise Ideas: graduation celebration, retirement celebration, family reunions, employee appreciation, club or organization fundraiser, girlfriends' getaway, couples' retreat, church outing, wedding, etc.

Reasons for Planning a Group Cruise:

Cruising with a group is much more fun than cruising alone. I have done both and really prefer sailing with a group. Furthermore, there are perks to be had when cruising as a group.

Plan your group cruise today. Learn more about group cruises here.

Upcoming Group Cruise Opportunities

On this cruise, each guest is asked to bring a backpack with supplies for needy children in the Hague Primary School in Falmouth, Jamaica.

Petes Travel Center will provide the backpacks and guests are asked to volunteer to add the supplies.

Cruise Saving Tip

Here is something everyone loves - learning how to save a buck or two on their cruise ship vacation.

Tip: Find Alternative Cruise Port Parking

If you have sailed from two or more cruise ports, then you know that there is a difference in the port parking rates. The highest rate we have paid was in Miami - $20 per day. The least expensive was in Tampa - $15 per day, but that rate has now gone up.

My family no longer parks at the port. We now shop around for alternative cruise port parking.

1. Search the Internet for available parking near the cruise port from which you will sail. You will find options.

On our last cruise from Miami, we paid half the amount charged by the cruise port by parking ten (10) minutes away. Smart!

2. Ask your Travel Consultant to find you a cruise port hotel which offers free parking, if you spend the night before your cruise with them.

If you are driving into the cruise port, this works great for you. If you are flying, this is a great option too. I always suggest to guests to plan on getting in the day before your cruise. This ensures that you make the ship and you are fresh when you board.

Choose to find alternative cruise port parking and you will save some money on your cruise ship vacation.
