Carnival Cruises From Galveston

An increased number of families are cruising from the Galveston Cruise Port. Carnival Cruise Line is one of three cruise lines currently sailing from that port.

I encourage you to read more about Carnival cruises from Galveston by clicking here.

Cruise Industry News

Here are two of several things happening in the cruise industry:

1. Disney Cruise Line Sails From New York

Disney Cruise Line has announced that it will offer a limited number of cruises from New York in the fall of 2017. This is great news for cruise lovers living in the northeast and for those wanting to sail with Disney, without having to fly to Florida.

The Disney Magic will offer one 7-day cruise itinerary to include Canada and then a handful of cruises to the Bahamas.

Disney cruises sell out quickly, so plan now to reserve your cabin early.

2. Fathom Reduces Fares for Dominican Republic Cruises

As you may already know, Fathom is Carnival Corporation's newest cruise line offering "community development" cruises to Cuba and the Dominican Republic.

Original cruise fares for Fathom's itineraries to the Dominican Republic had a lead rate of $1,465 during the peak season of summer.

Great news! For cruises through November 20, 2016, Fathom has announced fares starting as low as $499 per person.

Call your Travel Agent and reserve your cabin on a community development cruise to make a difference in the lives of people in the Dominican Republic.

Plan A Group Cruise

A group cruise is generally comprised of at least 8 cabins (number varies by cruise lines), each with 2 or more passengers.

Group Cruise Ideas: graduation celebration, retirement celebration, family reunions, employee appreciation, club or organization fundraiser, girlfriends' getaway, couples' retreat, church outing, wedding, etc.

Reasons for Planning a Group Cruise:

Cruising with a group is much more fun than cruising alone. I have done both and really prefer sailing with a group. Furthermore, there are perks to be had when cruising as a group.

Plan your group cruise today. Learn more about group cruises here.

Upcoming Group Cruise Opportunities

On this cruise, each guest is asked to bring a backpack with supplies for needy children in the Hague Primary School in Falmouth, Jamaica.

Petes Travel Center will provide the backpacks and guests are asked to volunteer to add the supplies.

The dates are February 20-25, 2017 - Presidents' Day week. It is a 5-day sailing aboard the beautiful Independence of the Seas out of Ft. Lauderdale to Haiti and Falmouth, Jamaica.

Cruise Saving Tip

Here is something everyone loves - learning how to save a buck or two on their cruise ship vacation.

Tip: Book Fall Cruises

If you really want to spend less money on a cruise ship vacation, then plan to sail in the fall season - August through November (except those itineraries including Thanksgiving).

Dollar for dollar, you will pay less for any cruise sailing during this time. You will even pay less for Disney cruises, which can cost you a good penny when you sail at any other time.

If you do not have young children sailing with you, plan to sail when the children are in school during the fall months and you will save.

Happy saving!
