Cruise Industry News

Here are two of several things happening in the cruise industry:

1. Getting Married On Norwegian Cruise Line's Ships
Norwegian Cruise Line, which has been offering weddings while docked at an embarkation port and at some destinations, will begin to offer weddings at sea.

The ceremony will be performed by the ship's captain and the wedding package will feature things such as: champagne toasts, cake, bistro dinner for two, bouquets and boutonniere, three bottles of wine and a one hour photography session.

Norwegian's legal weddings at sea will be offered on its newest ships, the Norwegian Breakaway, Norwegian Getaway and the Norwegian Escape, which debuts fall 2016. Wedding packages will start at $2,199.

2. Carnival Pride Heads to Baltimore

The Carnival Pride, which once sailed out of Baltimore, has undergone millions of dollars in renovation and is back in its "old" homeport.

As of March, Carnival Pride is offering cruise itineraries from as short as five days to as long as fourteen days from Baltimore. The ship will visit Bermuda, the Bahamas, Florida and the Caribbean.

This opens up so many opportunities for those living on the east coast of the U.S. and for those who are a short drive away.

Plan A Group Cruise

A group cruise is generally comprised of at least 8 cabins (number varies by cruise lines), each with 2 or more passengers.

Group cruise ideas: graduation celebration, retirement celebration, family reunions, employee appreciation, club or organization fundraiser, girlfriends' getaway, couples' retreat, church outing, wedding, etc.

Reasons for planning a group cruise:

Cruising with a group is much more fun than cruising alone. I have done both and really prefer sailing with a group. Furthermore, there are perks to be had when cruising as a group.

Plan your group cruise today. Learn more about group cruises here.

Cruise Saving Tip

Here is something everyone loves - learning how to save a buck or two on their cruise ship vacation.

Tip: Bring A Bottle Of Wine Onboard Ship

If you are among those who desire to have some alcohol onboard ship but do not want to go over your budget, there is great news for you.

Some cruise lines allow you to bring one bottle of wine per person onboard ship and it will not cost you anything extra, with one exception.

In many cases, the wine you bring onboard the ship must be consumed within the confines of your cabin. In the event that you bring it to the dining room, some cruise lines will charge you a cork fee.

Bringing a bottle of wine onboard ship will add up to a pretty penny in savings. Find out from your Travel Professional if your ship allows you to bring alcohol onboard. Bring your own wine and save some money.

Happy saving!
