Celebrity Cruises Caribbean Sailings

If you have ever considered a Celebrity Cruises getaway, there are many great reasons why you should do it.

Celebrity sails to many popular cruise ports in the Caribbean and I have written a webpage with some helpful information about those sailings.

You can learn more about Celebrity Cruises Caribbean sailings by clicking here.

Cruise Industry News

Here are two of several things happening in the cruise industry:

1. The Biggest Cruise Ship Arrives This Fall

The world's largest cruise ship, Harmony of the Seas, has made its debut in Europe and will arrive in the United States this fall. Harmony will be based in Ft. Lauderdale and will offer 7-day Eastern and Western Caribbean cruises from that port.

You may go ahead and reserve your cabin on this beautiful ship for sailings departing from the US starting in November.

As a result of Harmony of the Seas coming to Ft. Lauderdale/Port Everglades, Oasis of the Seas will move to Port Canaveral to offer Eastern and Western Caribbean cruises from that port.

2. Princess Cruises Increases Its Gratuity Rate - Again

Princess Cruises has announced new gratuity rates starting on December 15, 2016. Unfortunately, this is Princess' second increase in one year.

The new rates are as follows: guests in full suites will pay $15.50 per-person per-day; guests in mini-suites, $14.50; and all other guests $13.50 per-person per-day.

Although gratuity charges are automatically added to guests' onboard accounts, please remember that you reserve the right to have the amount adjusted up or down - based on your experience.

Plan A Group Cruise

A group cruise is generally comprised of at least 8 cabins (number varies by cruise lines), each with 2 or more passengers.

Group Cruise Ideas: graduation celebration, retirement celebration, family reunions, employee appreciation, club or organization fundraiser, girlfriends' getaway, couples' retreat, church outing, wedding, etc.

Reasons for Planning a Group Cruise:

Cruising with a group is much more fun than cruising alone. I have done both and really prefer sailing with a group. Furthermore, there are perks to be had when cruising as a group.

Plan your group cruise today. Learn more about group cruises here.

Upcoming Group Cruise Opportunities

Cruise Pack Mission to Jamaica

On this cruise, each guest is asked to bring a backpack with supplies for needy children at the Hague Primary School in Falmouth, Jamaica.

Petes Travel Center will provide the backpacks and guests are asked to volunteer to add the supplies.

The dates are February 20-25, 2017 - Presidents' Day week. It is a 5-day sailing aboard the beautiful Independence of the Seas out of Ft. Lauderdale to Haiti and Falmouth, Jamaica.

PetesTravel 2017 Graduation Cruise

If you have someone graduating from high school or college in spring of 2017, it is time to begin planning your celebration.

What better thing is there to do than take the entire family on a graduation cruise celebration?

You do not need to plan much, because Petes Travel Center has reserved some cabins on a 7-night Eastern Caribbean cruise from Ft. Lauderdale for you and yours.

Review the information and reserve your cabin by November 1, 2016 for only $25 per-person. Click here now.

Cruise Saving Tip

Here is something everyone loves - learning how to save a buck or two on their cruise ship vacation.

Tip: Mention Your Transportation Work Association

You may be able to save some money on your next cruise package, if you work for a transportation company such as an airline.

Cruise lines tend to offer discounted cruise rates to their "partners" from other transportation companies. The rate is referred to as the "Interline Rate."

You may check with your company to see if they have information on how you can save on a cruise vacation, using their association.

The alternative is to tell your travel consultant that you work with a transportation company and he/she will quote you the discounted rate, wherever one exists.

Happy saving!
